What is the US GDP 2024? ›

India's growth continues to surprise on the upside. Despite a poor showing by agriculture, provisional estimates peg India's GDP growth for fiscal 2024 at 8.2 per cent. This beats the 7.6 per cent growth estimated by National Statistical Office in February.

For a developed economy, an annual GDP growth rate of 2%-3% is considered normal. Therefore, any GDP growth above the said rate is a strong sign that an economy is expanding and prospering. A prospering economy creates more wealth, which leads to increased spending.

US Inflation Rate Slows to 2021-Lows

The annual inflation rate in the US slowed for a fourth consecutive month to 2.9% in July 2024, the lowest since March 2021, compared to 3% in June and below forecasts of 3%. Inflation eased for shelter (5.1% vs 5.2%), transportation (8.8% vs 9.4%) and apparel (0.2 vs 0.8%).
